The BEST Healthy 7-Layer Fajita Dip

Need a good dip for a party? But want one that's full of fresh, nourishing ingredients? I got you right here!

Layer 1: BLACK BEANS. Dump a can of black beans into a bowl and mash them up. A fork may work, but I used a potato masher and it got the job done pretty quick! Then, stir in some seasonings. I used some seasoning salt and garlic because I love them.

Then, spread your beans on the bottom of whatever dish you're going to use for your dip.

Layer 2: Next is the GUAC. Personally, I like to use pre-made guac like Wholly Guacamole, because that saves me time, it has great ingredients, and it's delicious. Or, more power to you if you make your own! Layer that right on top of the beans.

Layer 3: SALSA! Again, I just use a can of store-bought salsa. Spread that right over the guacamole.

Layer 4: LETTUCE. I prefer to use romaine lettuce. I just rinse off the head of lettuce, chop it up, then dry it all off with paper towels.

Layer 5: SHREDDED CHEESE. Because you gotta have cheese! I used Tillamook medium cheddar.

Layers 6 and 7: Sauteed RED BELL PEPPER and ONION. This is why "fajita" is in the title for this dip. Spray a pan with some cooking spray, and cook the chopped up red bell pepper and onion until tender. Yummm. Then sprinkle that on top of your cheese.

And voila! Grab some chips and DIP away!

Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 can black beans

  • 2 cups guacamole

  • 1-2 cups salsa

  • 2 cups lettuce

  • 1 cup shredded cheese

  • 1 red bell pepper

  • 1/2 onion

  • Garlic powder

  • Salt, to taste

Directions

1. Dump a can of black beans into a bowl and mash them up. A fork may work, but I used a potato masher and it got the job done pretty quick! Stir in your desired amount of salt and garlic powder. Then, spread your beans on the bottom of whatever dish you're going to use for your dip.

2. Next is the guacamole. Personally, I like to use pre-made guac like Wholly Guacamole, because that saves me time, it has great ingredients, and it's delicious. Or, more power to you if you make your own! Layer that right on top of the beans.

3. The next layer is salsa. Store-bought, home-made, whatever you prefer. Spread that right over the guacamole.

4. Now the lettuce. I prefer to use romaine lettuce. I just rinse off the head of lettuce, chop it up, then dry it all off with paper towels.

5. Then sprinkle on your shredded cheese.

6. The final layer(s) is sauteed red bell pepper and onion. This is the "fajita" part of the dip. Spray a pan with some cooking spray, and cook the chopped up red bell pepper and onion until tender. Yummm. Then sprinkle that on top of your cheese.

And your 7 Layer Fajita Dip is ready!! Whip out your favorite chips and dig in!! :D
